How to Improve You Water Intake for Optimal Health
DR. KAT CASTRO
Water makes up about 60% of our physical body and we constantly lose it through sweat, exercise, bathroom voiding and just living lift! We recommend our clients build healthy habits around water intake because it supports so much of our physiological functions: healing, aids mobility, moving lymph and waste and even our immune system.
Make sure you are hydrating this Fall!
Here’s how you can start building a healthy water intake habit:
- Buy a water bottle that you love. It should also be portable and easily refillable so you have no excuses! They also sell timed water bottles with the hours labeled so you can stay consistent.
- Set an alarm on your phone to drink water every hour. In order to avoid frequent trips to the bathroom, try not to overload your bladder with too much water in one sitting. We recommend drinking 8-10 oz of water every hour to pace your self…and your bladder!
- Track your water intake in a planner or on your phone! There are really great apps to help you track your new habit!
