Meditation is a practice that aligns your body, mind and spirit when practiced regularly. There are many types of meditation available but guided meditation is a great place to start if you are new to the practice.
Meditation and mindfulness has been researched and proven to provide lasting benefits for mental health, pain and stress management. When you practice meditation, it helps your body switch from your sympathetic nervous system (“fight or flight”) to your parasympathetic nervous system (“rest and digest”) to promote relaxation from everyday stress. When practiced regularly, you will begin to notice a shift in your body, your sleep patterns, pain and emotions.
Our guided meditation class focuses on breathing and body-scanning to make you an active participant in your mindfulness journey. This class focuses more on centering and learning how to down-train your nervous system in times of stress. You will learn various techniques and practices that can be applied to your busy, modern day life. You will feel more grounded and centered after our meditation class!
Guided meditation is appropriate for you’ve never meditated before or if you are a beginner meditation practitioner. If you are currently dealing with chronic pain, stress or feeling overwhelmed in your life, this would be a helpful addition to your physical therapy sessions or pilates classes.
