Connect – Guided Meditation
May 13, 2020
Everyone has heard that meditation is good for you. A lot of people are turning towards a meditation practice, especially during this unprecedented times.
What is mediation and how is it beneficial?
Meditation is a practice that aligns your body, mind and spirit when practiced regularly.
There are many types of meditations available but guided meditation is a great place to start if you are new to the practice.
Meditation and mindfulness has been researched and proven to provide lasting benefits for mental health, pain and stress management. When you practice meditation, it helps your body switch from your sympathetic nervous system, a.k.a “fight or flight” to your parasympathetic nervous system, a.k.a “rest and digest” to promote relaxation from everyday stress. When practiced regularly, you will begin to notice a shift in your body, your sleep patterns, pain and emotions.
Our team at PhysioElements realize that especially while we have so many questions and fears during this period, providing an opportunity to begin your mediation with us, is important. Dr. Kat leads our daily guided meditation classes. The class focuses on breathing and body-scanning to make you an active participant in your mindfulness journey. You will learn various techniques and practices that can be applied to your busy, modern day life. You will feel more grounded and centered after our meditation class!
