Mat Pilates – Glute Focus!

Pilates is an amazing low impact workout that you can do everyday to help tone, align and center your mind and body. You don’t always need the equipment to get a good workout!
We are sharing a short glute activation sequence from Dr. Kat’s virtual Mat Pilates class. If you have taken our classes, we always incorporate a glute series! These 3 exercises incorporate your whole body as you also have to support your body weight with your arms and keep your abdominals engaged to stay centered.
You can pair this with your existing workout routine. Mamas you can squeeze this in while your little ones are asleep… or have them do this with you!
TIPS
- Focus on keeping a neutral spine, square hips, and preventing arching your low back when you lift the leg up.
- If you have a yoga block, place it on the lower back for a challenge and tactile feedback to keep your hips even!
- Do 3 sets of 12-15 reps!
