Dr. Nara Yoon, PT, DPT, OCS, CPI, bSPTS-2, SEAS-2 Certified therapist
Dr. Nara is the founder and director of PhysioElements Physical Therapy. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Binghamton University and Masters of Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. She is a certified specialist of orthopedic physical therapy (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association’s Board of Specialties. She trained extensively under Diane Lee and Linda-Joy Lee (LJ) in using the Integrated Systems Model. ISM uses a whole body approach in order to discover a true driver or the source of where the pain is coming from. Dr. Nara is certified at the advanced C2 level by the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) Schroth-based method and is a lab assistant for the C1 and C2 level courses. She is also certified at the advanced SEAS (Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis) 2 level by the ISICO Institute in Italy.
She also received extensive pilates training using all the pilates apparatus through BASI (Body Arts and Science International) and is certified in pre/post natal pilates through Center for Women’s Fitness. She is certified as a Kinesiotape practitioner (CKTP) through Kinesiotaping Association International and is also certified in the Graston Technique. She has a varied array of post graduate certificate trainings such as Active Release Technique for lower extremity, TRX for medical professionals, Kettlebell training through Strong FIrst, Animal Flow (with the inventor, Mike Fitch), Maitland Technique, Mulligan Technique, Pelvic Floor courses through Herman and Wallace, Shoulder/Knee courses with Kevin Wilk, to name but a few. She teaches Barefoot Training Specialist workshops as a Master Instructor with the Evidence Based Fitness Academy.
Dr. Nara is a wife and a mom to two beautiful daughters and enjoys pursuing and incorporating a healthy lifestyle as well as motivating her clients to do the same. Dr. Nara is passionate and committed to her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and expertise in Physical Therapy, fitness and Women’s health to provide her clients with an integrated and innovative whole person approach that helps each individual achieve his/her goal.
DR. KATHLEEN CASTRO, PT, DPT, CSCS, PMA®-CPT, BSPTS-1 CERTIFIED THERAPIST
Location: Manhasset, Greenwich
Dr. Kat is the lead therapist for PhysioElements Physical Therapy at our Greenwich, Connecticut locations. Dr. Kat received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York University and her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She has completed clinical experiences in inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, pelvic floor dysfunctions, and pediatrics. She also participated in research investigating prevalence of injury in yoga during her time at NYU and co-presented "Development of a Rating Scale for Video Analysis of Yoga" at the 2016 APTA Combined Sections Meeting in Anaheim, California.
Dr. Kat is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Pilates Teacher (PMA® -CPT) and a seasoned yoga instructor. She has 5 years of experience teaching private and group classes in Boston and NYC. She believes that a teacher must always be a student and regularly takes classes and continuing education workshops to learn new material to better serve her patients and clients.
Dr. Kat enjoys treating a diverse population of patients and her interests include chronic pain, sports related injuries, pelvic floor dysfunctions, pre/post-natal population, and pediatrics. She is currently a Barcelona Schroth Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) -1 Certified Therapist to treat spinal deformities and certified with the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute to treat pelvic floor dysfunction. In 2019, she will be working towards her StrongFirst SFG 1 Kettlebell certification. She works to find the root of the problem and combines manual therapy, Pilates-based therapeutic exercise, and functional strength training in her treatment sessions to work her patients to reach their goals. As an avid Pilates practitioner and long-distance runner, Dr. Kat integrates her passion for fitness and wellness to support her patients and clientele in leading a healthy lifestyle for optimal health and longevity.
DR. Carson POTASH, PT, DPT, RYT-200, BSPTS-1 CERTIFIED THERAPIST
Dr. Carson earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 2018. She has practiced in many settings including acute care, sub acute care, private practice and hospital-based outpatient care. Dr. Carson is an experienced yoga and group fitness instructor, with a 200 hour certification from the Sivananda School of Yoga and a 200 hour certification from Back Bay Yoga School. She was drawn to Physical Therapy and yoga alike to help patients and clients identify their strengths and achieve their goals. Currently, Dr. Carson enjoys working with and motivating people of all ages and activity levels. She is a Barcelona Schroth Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) -1 Certified Therapist to treat spinal deformities. In her free time she enjoys cooking vegetarian meals, practicing yoga, and painting.
DR. samantha Robin PT, DPT, CSCS, SFMA, BSPTS-1 Certified therapist
Dr. Sam received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University and her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State University. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and holds a certification in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Dr. Sam is certified by the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS)- 1 Certified Therapist, using the Schroth Method to improve posture and treat patients with spinal deformities.
Dr. Sam has completed several continuing education courses through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) and constantly develops her manual therapy skills. She is a Graston Technique therapy Provider and trained in Kinesiotaping. Using manual therapy techniques, functional assessment, gait analysis, postural and core reeducation, and strength and conditioning programs, she effectively improves patient’s level of fitness to optimize their performance.
An avid runner herself, Dr. Sam specializes in working with the running population. She has worked with all levels of athletes ranging from pediatrics, weekend warriors, marathon runners, triathletes and professional athletes. She is proficient in running analysis and building an individualized rehabilitation and injury prevention program that will improve running efficiency, performance and form. She has a passion for Pilates and the integration of Pilates in therapy for runners. With this passion, she motivates her patients to live a healthy active lifestyle in order to achieve all of their functional goals.
DR. ANITA OH, PT, DPT, C/NDT, CKTP, BSPTS-2 Certified therapist
Dr. Anita has earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from New York University and currently working with the pediatric population with an emphasis on musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions/diagnosis. She has 10+ years of experience including serial casting, received her certification from the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute and developed an intensive aquatic program at NYU Langone Medical Center/Hospital for Joint Diseases. She is also certified in Neuro Developmental Treatment (C/NDT) through the NDT Association, a certified Theratog fitter, a credentialed clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP), and received her C1 training in the Schroth Method. Dr. Anita continues to improve her clinical skills through extensive course work (including a recent course in "If You Can't Breathe you Can't Function") and extremely passionate about helping her patients/clients improve their quality of life.
KIHO LEE, LAc
Kiho is a native Long Islander. His interest in eastern medicine first began as an adolescent athlete. He depended on cupping and acupuncture to help him recover from competitions and training. His interest grew over time and eventually shaped his career path. He aspires to provide effective service to the Long Island community while also further raising awareness about the modality.
Kiho's clinical experience and training include musculoskeletal pain management, neurological disorders, and conditions related to internal medicine. He emphasizes making accurate pattern differentiation diagnosis according to each patient's individual health constitution and medical history. Pattern recognition allows acupuncture practitioners to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms that bring patients to the clinic.
